This is my final blog…. I typing this today not as a goodbye but as a story and inspiration for you reading this right now. I am Megan, I am a 11th grader in high school. Stressed out about classes, the past, the present and the future. Scared to speak my mind. Scared to show people who I truly am. Worried about how people view me as a human being. Scared I won’t make it out of high school with all my sanity. Scared my future won’t be as strong and successful as I dreamed. Trying to restore my happy vides I once had when I was a kid. Now I am Megan 2.0, all of that i just mentioned isn’t stuck in a little box of worries or insecurities, but in a box of love yourself for you, don’t give two craps about what people say or do, and do the best you can right now in the present. Where did I learn all of this from? People named Rachel, Caitlin, Jake, Alexandra, Josie, Roger, Jace, Jackson, Aneesah, Janais, Lainey, and Youssef. These people not only taught me this daily in out Digital Citizenship class but taught me this during their Dig Cit Talks. Talks about their passions in life and change they wish to see in the world, from the beginning of the year to the end they have been working with different organizations, children, adults, school boards, cats, plants, out teachers Mrs. Lord and Mrs. McNeilly, and the one and only Mr. Smith the principle of Lake Norman Charter; to get their issue they choose out to the world to teach all people different shapes and sizes about All Heroes (By: Rachel Hull), Learn Lead &... Stress (By: Caitlian Lancaster), Understanding ADHD (By: Jake Matocha), Reuse it or Lose it (By: Alexandra Torres), Your Power in Politics (By: Josie Peplinski), The Power of a Video (By: Roger Moore), The Unspoken Bias of Dress Code (By; Jace Padgett), The Special Understanding (By: Jackson Newton), #DanceStrong (By: Aneesah Muhammad), Mindful Melodies (By: Janais Phillips), Being the Other Purrson (By: Lainey Daum), and Changing the World Because You Won’t (By: Youssef Houissa). These are the titles of their talks and each one hit every person differently. Now I am sure you are wondering why I didn’t mention the title of my talk…. I was the camera person for the talks because my project was not able to be followed through with in the school so I didn’t really have a issue to talk about. I love photography so it was a perfect thing for me to do. So that was my part in the Dig Cit Talks, the photos turned out great but still need to be slightly edited.
Part of me is happy the year is almost over and the other part of me is also said because next year will be my last year in highschool and I will be graduating and moving on with my life. So I wish the best of luck to everyone in their future, and for the last time, be Positive and Spread Good Vibes Beautiful People.

TED Talk Feels: For those of you who don't know what a ted talk is, it is where a speaker stands on stage to talk about a passion they have for change in the world or just in a community. Usually you have a certain amount of time to get your point across and can only stand in ones point on the stage to talk. Well that is what i am getting prepared to do in these upcoming weeks. I have plenty of doubts to present my passion project because I am not a very strong speaker under pressure. I honestly don't want to present it, when i talk i studded a lot of choke on my words. My passion project has taken a turn and we are now trying to get the tiles up in the school. We are no longer painting the tiles physically but we are either going to paint on paper or print the deigns on a large scale printer and wrap the tiles. Haven't heard back from the big people are the school about what we are allowed to do yet so still waiting for that. SPRING BREAK: Spring break is coming up, who's excited? I am really excited to get out of school and catch up on sleep. I just want to hang out with my family with out a care in the world and not focus on school work, grades, and how I am going to get into college. I am hopefully going to Florida with friends and my sisters to stay with my grandparents. I am from Florida so I never miss a chance to go back to the sunshine state. Comment below what you plan on doing for spring break. Well that's all I got for you, sorry it was just a spill of whats on my mind right now as i am typing this. I hope everyone has a great week. Stay positive my friends :)
For those of you who don't know it has been snowing in NC. We haven't had school all week, I wanted to post a small little blog to update you guys on my passion project. I have about 3 to four tiles almost done painted, I want to present these to the hospital but it is very hard for me to even find time to paint the tiles. I hope to get things done maybe not on schedule but done. I hope those of you who live in Charlotte have a lot of fun in snow. I am very excited to see what 2018 will bring how much further I can grow within myself. Stay Positive My Beautiful Friends. Thanks In the the spirit of thanksgiving coming up next week, I want to talk about what it means to be thankful and the things that I am thankful for. During thanksgiving it is when I realise what I am truly thankful for, as I am sitting at the dinner table with my friends and family I can say positive things and reasons I am thankful for them. To be thankful you are you give a positive attitude and thanks to a person or to just a simple object. There are many people/things I give thanks to every year while I'm sitting at that kids table on thanksgiving, haven't made it to the adult table yet I guess or my mom just wants me there to watch all the other crazy kids. Some people may not be able to make it to the kids table or even to the adult table during thanksgiving because they maybe staying in the hospital related to an injury, surgery, ect. This is another reason why I am so passionate about my project Brightening the Day of Hospitalized Teens and Adults. No one wants to say in a boring hospital especially on a holiday, the environment is just so plain and not as positive towards the patient. During those holidays the patients can look at those tiles with paintings and quotes and say "I CAN DO THIS, I will be there at the next christmas or thanksgiving." That statement right there is what I hope those patients say when seeing the quotes above their beds.
In the comments list 5 things you are thankful for. I will see you next week beautiful people. Stay Positive My Beautiful Friends. Positivity in an Emergency Every year thousands of people are injured and are put into hospital care. 5,850,200 children 0-17 in age, and 8,996,400 adults are hospitalized hospitalized each year (website for facts). Check out this link for more information about statistics. Being in the hospital is not something kids nor adults enjoy doing, it is a stressful and crazy atmosphere to be in. Kids that are hospitalized have different things that come around or they can go to to make their stay more comfortable. What about the teens and adults? Over a million teens and adults are hospitalized, teens up to 16 must stay in the pediatric wing of an hospital, where there is more things for children to do then teen. The adults that are hospitalized have a plain beige room machines and that is it. What if we could change this by using art and creating a separate room for teens in hospitals? I am all about a positive atmosphere and somewhere you can feel comfortable and not stressed nor worried. I have thought of the idea of putting art into rooms where adults or teen may be staying in an hospital, also the idea of a room where teens have their own area with teen stuff to do such as video games, drawing/coloring adult books, and different games. Who said teens and adults can't have as much fun as adults.
Stress I want to talk about the one thing that everyone goes through in life, STRESS. If you can say that never in your life you have encountered stress then I don't believe you are human. I deal with stress everyday especially for school reasons, I mean just yesterday in the middle of class I had an anxiety attack over school work and grades I got back. There are many ways to deal with stress, if you are like me you want a fun way to deal with it. Here are 4 fun and positive ways to deal with stress: Yoga Not only does yoga help calm you and relieve stress but it also helps out many parts of your body. Yoga helps my spin the most, I have back problems every sense I started volleyball. I use yoga as a way to stretch out my body and to stretch out my mind as well. 8 Ways yoga helps you body:
Working out Working out is another way where I can just run and feel like I am running off the stress just like you run off the weight. Working out can also be really fun and energizing, when I work out I almost get a high from it. After workout I feel so healthy and that I did something very really good with my time instead of doing something unhealthy and not good my body nor my brain. Going on a little adventure Going on an adventure is always a fun way to just do you and go places maybe you have never been before. It is always fun to just maybe go sit by a river and watch the water move so swiftly or climb a mountain and watch the birds fly through the air. adventures give me a piece of mind and clam my nerves no matter what they are. I can have time to myself or I can go with a friends. Color or draw Coloring is always so fun for me and even the kids I watch love it. Drawing is also a hobby of mine, I like to draw flowers and landscapes. Coloring is the most non stressful thing in the world because there is no wrong way to color a picture. I know people that have been going through the most hardest times in there life where they question their place on earth. I got knowledge of this happening to my friends sister, I gave her my coloring book that I would color after homework or just a long day. Her sister has finished the whole coloring book and shown improvement in how she sees her self and is just a happier person overall. All of these things you can use to help you maybe solve those stress issues, but maybe you have something else you use to help your calm and relieve your stress, comment down below what you like to do to relieve your stress. Stay positive see you next week beautiful people. Explore Hello readers, today we are going to climb a mountain. When I mean climb a mountain I mean I want you to go do something and explore the great outdoors. Story time!! In my last blog I told you about my crazy family, and that will make a big impact on how this story may go today. This is a story on when my family decided they wanted to climb a mountain. It was a beautiful morning I was ready to have a nice chill day and not do anything and then my dad comes in with great news "Everyone get ready, we are going for a hike," my dad says. I wasn't happy at all, I was ready to get the heck out of dodge. But I ended up getting ready anyways and getting in the car to go one this adventure with my lovely family. We get to this mountain called Crowders Mountain, and we are looking at the different trails we can take and we off course pick the easiest one. Even though we picked the easiest one with my family it becomes the hardest hike ever. If any of you know my dad then you now that he doesn't fallow the law or path given to him, he has to make it ten times harder for everyone. So we start going up the "easy" trail and my dad decides oh it will be so much more fun to not follow the trail. Me and my mom look at each other and just keep walking, eventually my dad just stop asking and just went with my three little sisters. Me and my mom are watching them climb all of these rocks and hanging on trees and me and my moms always say "What ya goin to do about it," when stuff like this happens. Me and my just keep truckin up this mountain and we get a call. Can you guess from who? My father, he is of course lost in this mountain as me and my mom are just getting to the top. Me and my mom always see this stuff coming because it happens all the time. Long story shot my dad ended up finding the way to the top of the mountain, and we got to see as a family the most beautiful view ever. The lesson I always learn from this is stay on the path the God gave you and don't try to take the shorter way to the top of the mountain, no matter how hard the situation is there is always a beautiful view at the end of the climb. About Me Hi my name is Megan and this is my positive vibes domain. I am happy you are here, hope you brought a positive attitude. Your probably wondering what kind of person I am and what I am all about right, then you better get reading because there is a lot to know about me. To start of I am from Florida but unfortunately moved to North Carolina when I was three, "do I miss Florida and want to move back?" you ask, HECK YES. Florida is always my favorite place to be because it is so warm and it surrounded by the ocean, the being on the ocean or on the beach will always be my happy place. The beach is just a calm environment to decompress and just chill out with some good music and a comfy chair or nice blanket. I am in high school, if any of you people are in high school then you know the stress of trying to kind what the heck you want to do with you life after you graduate, my dream is to go to Florida University but I am not made of money and I can't be far from my family. I have always wanted to be a interior designer because I just love the creativity of interior design and the amount of emotion and character it can express. You're probably wondering why I don't want to be far from my family, well let me tell you. My family is pretty big and very crazy, I have 3 younger sisters and my mother and father. If I left NC I would miss my mom the most because my mom is my best friend, I always call her "Mommy" and she still tucks me in and gives me a kiss goodnight, may be childish but it is always nice to get a kiss on the forehead and for her to say goodnight, it is just our thing. I would hate to not see her everyday and not be able to giver her a huge hug and bother her (also just our thing). My sisters may bother the heck out of me but I still love them, I also may fight with my dad all the time but I love him so much. Me and my family always watch football together, my team is The New England Patriots, when it is football Sunday we go to church come home but all our gear one make football kind of food ad watch the game, yes when the pre-season games are over I may talk about a game or two (no negative vibes about the Patriots). Anyways before I start ranting about football let me tell you about the church I go to. I attend Elevation Church, the video on my home page is Pastor Steven Furtick speaking some great inspirational words. I will probably post some of his messages with my blogs because everyone can connect to them and they can really help you in your everyday life. Well that is kinda all I am going to give you about my myself for now. More about me will come in some more blogs so don't go anywhere, stay positive and keep those good vibes beautiful people. |
